I made a peach pie for my grandmother when we visited on Sunday. She told me three times that I should put it in the oven before the chicken went in (my mother handled the chicken). I pointed out three times that I couldn't put the pie in before I had assembled it. Despite going in after the chicken, it turned out plenty tasty. This was my first summer pie. Until now, I've only made pies for Christmas.
Everyone loved it except my son, who picked the peaches out. When he finished his top crust he was sad, but when he discovered another crust on the bottom, he was happy again.
